Social
Impact Assessments
[N.S.W.
requirements only]
Phil
Bennett Consulting can help with all requirements of completing Social
Impact Assessments in respect of SIA thresholds and gaming machine entitlements.
Completion of a Social Impact Assessment (SIA) is necessary when a club
wishes to increase the number of gaming machines it can keep and operate.
The aim of a SIA is to increase the threshold of gaming machines authorised
for the premises.
The Gaming Machines Act 2001 and the Gaming Machines Regulation 2002
stipulate that a club must complete one of two classes of SIA. A Class
1 SIA is required when the club wishes to increase its SIA threshold
by up to ten (10) authorised machines. A Class 2 SIA is required when the
club seeks an increase to its threshold by more than ten (10) machines.
